So you are all set up with drivers and ready to go. You get a call from a passenger who wants a ride. Congratulations! What do you do now?
It's time to add a Job.
1: Navigate to your dashboard on the top left:
2: Click "Add Job" on the top right:
3: Enter the phone number of the passenger who will be taking the ride. Typically this will be the same number who called in to schedule the ride.
Once you enter the phone number you may see some suggestions that display in a drop-down below the phone number. This drop-down allows you to select from a list of past locations that this user has already requested rides from which makes creating the job easier by automatically adding the "Pickup Location", the "Contact Name", and any "Pickup Location Notes" that were entered in for previous jobs.
Once those 3 fields are filled, that is all of the required information to add a new job. You can click save and the job will be created.
There are several additional features that allow for the passenger to be more specific about what they want, and for the driver to get the information they need to pick up the passenger successfully.
You can give your drivers some additional information about the job in two places:
The "Pickup Location Notes" are from the passenger and will help the driver to find the passenger or accomodate their needs better.
And the "Driver Notes", which contain additional information that the dispatcher may wish to convey to the driver.
Often passengers will have specific car types or options in mind, such as a needing an SUV for a large party or perhaps they want to be able to smoke in the car.
By selecting any of these options the drivers who do not meet these criteria will be automatically excluded from matching process performed by the Auto Dispatcher so they will not be assigned to a Job that they are unable to complete. If the Auto Dispatcher is unable to find a driver, you can still dispatch this job manually to a driver that does not meet the requirements.
Linking an account to a job
When creating a new job you can link an account by searching for the account number or the name associated with the account. Accounts are a useful tool for tagging jobs to a unique identifier in order to use them later when running reports for billing or commissions compensation.
The information could be used for companies that wish to expense all rides for their customers.
- Example: Scheduling rides to and from the airport for their clients.
Or for a company that wishes to gain credit for referring rides to your company.
- Example: A restaurant that schedules rides for their inebriated patrons.
Or any other structure that you think would fit your needs. Since the accounts option simply "tags" the ride so it can be reported on later you can use this feature in any way you see fit.
Scheduling Auto Dispatch
If you would like to set a specific Auto Dispatch Method or set a specific time to have the job automatically dispatched, you can click the "Schedule Auto-Dispatch" button at the bottom-left area of the "add job" form and enter the relevant information. If you later decide you would like to dispatch this job manually, click "Clear" to disable the Auto Dispatcher.
The estimated price is based on pricing settings that you have configured for your platform. The final price may be different than the estimate based on unexpected delays, wait times, or detours that the driver encounters along the way.
You can show the Driver the estimated price in the driver app by checking the box next to "Est. Price".
